| If we think back to
when life was simple, we can imagine life in a pure state, for
all living things on earth. We humans, with our great talents
and abilities, have invented technologies and trained our minds
to analyze and observe the world around us. This is good, but
with it has come some bad things. Life is more complicated now
than ever before. We deal with more stress and pressures. We
all feel this. To balance such stress, it is important to socialize
and have a good time, that is where I come in! I am privileged to find myself in the position of running a casino, Dolphin Harmony, which I never planned to do, but I enjoy it very much. I see that people appreciate coming to a safe and comfortable place where they can relax and unwind. My business has moved from Beacon Hill to the strip in Simpson Bay and my loyal employees have helped to keep the environment one of warmth and cleanliness. The décor is simple but welcoming and our clients tell us it is like being in their own living room and it is full of good spirits. I feel like Caribbean casinos are a stage on which we can see togetherness and harmony displayed, unlike the "sin city" image of Las Vegas and other places. In the Dolphin Casino there is a sense of sharing of cultures, as people from many different nationalities mix and mingle. They learn about each other's homelands, food, music, etc. It is important to keep the relaxation and entertainment aspects of gambling as the key focus. Human weakness can lead some people to push themselves too far and the result is fake happiness, or even fake sadness. Losing more than can be afforded can end in frustrations and family problems. . The casino industry has gone up and down like a roller coaster as people have changed their approach to gambling. Years ago, people gambled and lost without realizing what happened. Today, the average client is very savvy about the games and some have developed natural talents or have educated themselves to get the odds in their favor. This may be fortunate or unfortunate for me, but it has been a great experience to see these changes. Through the years, though, I just want to keep the people happy. We in this industry spend all day and night dealing with the general public, and if they are not happy, what is the point? Some of course may say that the point is to make money, but I prefer to keep the people happy and comfortable. To illustrate my philosophy, let me tell you this. I have brought a game that is new to this part of the world, Pachinko, which is a combination of video slots and pinball machine with a penny denomination. When gambling with only a penny (one cent USD) you can afford more time to enjoy your stay in the casino, no? In addition, I like to keep people contented so there is always the complimentary bar, crushed ice buffet, gift raffles, and all with a tropical flavor. We may not be the biggest casino on the island, but we try our best to make everyone warm and full of good spirits. We wish you the best of holidays and great harmony to your lives. |
