Grand Case is known as the Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean and is complemented by its many excellent restaurants. But, even in this village of such very fine tastes, one of the many can stand out from the rest. This is the Fish Pot. From its humble beginnings in a small house in 1960, it has evolved into a classical "Gastronomique - Gourmet Dining" establishment to be savored and enjoyed.

After walking through the front archway, you pass a glass tank with lobsters up to six pounds, a large window of a climate controlled wine room with several outstanding name-brand selections on display, and a fully stocked bar where your apéritif of choice is waiting for you. At this point, you get a sense that good things are about to happen. Continuing, you enter the open-air dining room, which is more than 50 feet wide and whose back wall is a mirror of the Caribbean with the Bay of Grand Case and Anguilla fighting for your attention.

Day or night, the views are spectacular! The evening that we were there for dinner, the peaceful sounds of the calm waves lapping at the shore beneath the restaurant helped to make us forget that we were going home in a few days. In the dark sky, the stars seemed to be brighter than normal and a crescent moon surrounded by frosting glazed over the sea. Lights from the building shining on the water illuminated the foam of the breaking waves, which looked liked the bubbly overflow from a bottle of champagne. In the distance, the blinking lights of Anguilla reminded us that we weren't alone. It was a beautiful setting and a romantic evening. A lot of hand holding went on at our table.

The menu choices are imaginative and creative, and will more than entice your palate. The dishes were nicely presented. The service staff is attentive and on top of things. I would rate them excellent. The table settings are attractive and the decor overall is very pleasant. We chose a lovely Chabis to compliment our foie gras, fish soup, Salmon with white rice and legumes, and a Bouillabaisse made of of shrimp, Mahi-Mahi, snapper, lobster and scallops. A cup of expresso was wonderful; and, the chocolate soufflé, which is ordered at the beginning of the meal, delighted my taste buds. The evening was an epicurean delight! By the way, their portions are large and you really get your money's worth. Dine at the Fish Pot during your next trip and I'm sure you'll come back again and again.

Fish Pot serves lunch at noon from December 15 to April 30th. Open 7 days a week from 6 pm for dinner. All Major Credit Cards Accepted.
