La
Veranda Café, which is located on the veranda around Hollywood
Casino at the Pelican Resort, will satisfy your appetite
for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have spent many mornings here
enjoying a delicious three-egg omelet with lox and onions, toast,
and fresh fruit with non-stop coffee. Of course, there is a full
breakfast menu with lots of morning choices. At lunch, you can
enjoy hamburgers, BBQ ribs or chicken, Crepes, Sandwiches, Fish
& Chips or a number of other delicious selections. Get there
before 8am for great photos of cruise ships coming into port
and come back between 5-6pm when they leave. For dinner, don't miss the mouth-watering El Gaucho Argentine Chateaubriand of grass-fed, very lean, prime beef grilled to your taste and served with a cognac-green pepper corn sauce or their selection of six USDA prime steaks including the grilled prime rib on the bone-crispy outside and juicy inside or their featured rack of lamb and Caribbean Baked-Stuffed Lobster. And, you can top off your meal with tantilizing desserts, which are all home-made, and include a "Chocolate Island" of an edible chocolate cup filled with dark chocolate mousse floating on a sea of vanilla cream sauce and puree of strawberries. If you're bringing your laptop with you, La Veranda Café is pleased to offer its patrons a complimentary WiFi service. After you've finished breakfast or lunch, you can take a break and sit there with a cup of coffee or a soda and check your email at the
office or contact the family at home to let them know what a
fabulous time you are having in St. Maarten. And, after you've
spent some afternoon or evening hours in the casino and those
pangs of hunger for a snack or dinner start to effect your gambling,
just walk out the side door of the casino and the staff at La
Veranda Café will be right there waiting to satisfy your
needs. On Sunday evenings, La Veranda provides entertainment and usually features Duke Francisco, (Cabaret Night), a very talented singer, guitarist who has a wide range of styles from popular to ballads to rock-n-roll to Caribbean. He even does a very good Louis Armstrong. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night snacks weekdays 7am - 3pm and 5:30 - 11pm. Weekends 7am - 11pm. Music nightly and scheduled entertainment. Major Credit Cards Accepted. |
